ARC REVIEW I could not put this down. It was totally gross, addictive, and surprised me at every turn! Not often do I read a book that makes me physically cringe but THIS did. The world building was perfect, not overdone, but the perfect amount to make me forget I do not in fact live In The Void and I am not facing deadly disgusting creatures. This is one of those books I will be thinking about for years to come. The inventiveness of the author honestly is astounding. The characters were real, likeable and …not so likeable! If you like a book that freaks you out, makes your skin crawl but you CANNOT put it down?? You’ve found it!

Cute witchy vibes straight off the bat which gave me high hopes for this ARC. I loved the magical bakery vibes, loved the representation in all the characters and by far my favourite thing was her magical house and Hemmie the cat! I’m not a huge fan of insta love and this really is love at first sight. I liked the characters overall, especially the side relationship of Immy and Eric. I feel like i would have rather read their story than Dina’s. Scott was okay, though again the whole instant falling in love kinda ruined it for me, I liked his back story though i do think it could have gone into more detail to give him some more depth. The whole ‘hex’ plot for me was a little watery, i feel like it was a bit wispy washy and i ended up skipping quite a few ages where Dina’s inner monologue was just ‘how do i break this curse’. The ending wasn’t surprising but that wasnt a bad thing. Overall this was a nice read. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes instalove, witchy vibes and some spice.

I was initially drawn to this book based on the cover art and after reading the blurb I was really intrigued. Laura completely captured the feel of consuming, obsessive love to the point where I felt I was in love with Lowe. Ella’s inner monologue was so convincing that I truly felt I was experiencing each emotion with her, and that I may actually BE Ella. The experience of being a young teenager in the 90s was SO SPOT ON that this book felt like going home to me. Her descriptions of things only a 90s kid could experience had me almost in tears at some points. Then Ella’s experiences as a 30 year old were just so scarily accurate as someone just turned 30. I cannot express enough how much I loved the way this was written. The way you only got to see Lowe from Ella’s point of view and experience him through her eyes was so interesting as I found myself wondering alongside her - does he like Ella? Is he in love? At one point I wondered if he was real! The reality is you really don’t know anything about Lowe other than Ella’s opinion of him. The two time lines were perfectly done and went together seamlessly. I absolutely adorned this book and will recommend it to anyone who loves dual timelines, romance, unrequited love stories or ANYONE who has been in love or grew up in the 90s! Thank you to Harper Collin’s and the author for the ARC. It really was a privilege to read this one!

Being 30 years old reading this is completely different than reading it as a 15 year old who had experienced almost nothing. The missed opportunities, the “almost a happy ending”s really just rip ya heart out! It’ll forever be a five star read for me.

When I started this ARC I was expecting a lovey, easy going romance about some sexy doctors. Well, I got the sexy doctors but nothing about this book was easy going! Tiffany’s POV jumping back and forth between the present and her child self was perfectly done and the story came together brilliantly when these two time lines collide. I’ve never read anything quite like this. On one hand it’s a romance, you have Ethan who’s sweet, smart, caring and just the best, and when your reading this POV it’s all butterflies and swinging your legs giggling like a school girl. THEN you jump back to Tiffany’s past and it’s tense, dramatic, heartbreaking and feels at times like you’ve been thrown into a thriller or crime novel! It really was the best of both worlds. I felt like some of the character developments were maybe a bit far fetched, especially right at the end, however this was minor and didn’t really take away anything from the actual story. This book was totally gripping and had me finishing it in one day! I’d recommend it to anyone who loves a cheesy romance AND a bit of excitement and drama!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Set in Edinburgh in the 1820’s, an aspiring surgeon abandons his life in the high society of London to pursue his dreams, but after coming into financial troubles he ventures into the unorthodox life of grave digging/body snatching. I loved the premise of this story. Based in real life events, and in the case of a few characters actual people that lived and breathed this life. I knew little about the history of body snatching but reading this has sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole as it’s absolutely intriguing! I loved the macabre feel of this story, the visual descriptions made it so easy for me to imagine myself right there in dreary Edinburgh. The character development for James was great, but my favourite has to be Nye. His intellect, charisma and obsession with science really was so entertaining. I felt the romance between James and Nye was cute, it added some depth to the story and made some scenes even more tense because of it. I will say the start of the book was a little slow for me, entertaining but not gripping. However the plot twist in the middle really sets the pace for the rest of this book and had me desperately reading to find out what happened. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a book on the darker side, there’s some macabre humour, obviously a lot of death and gore mentioned but if you are remotely interested in science, history or just dark subject matter this books right up your street!

Throughly bloody confused by this book. It’s boring in some parts, but then all of a sudden she’s running for her life from some kind of demon. The story feels rushed in part and the cooking thing just annoyed me. Couldn’t get on with any of the characters and saw the twist at the end coming a mile off. It’s alright but I’m on the fence about even reading the second one…
